About Us
Reddish Villa JFC - A Club for the Community

The club was formed in 1993 when a meeting was organised by Mike Bridge at the Fir Tree pub Reddish Lane to discuss forming a junior football team. The meeting was attended by Mike & Gillian Bridge, Mike & Tina Kilheeney and Jim Fallon - these became the founder members of the club.
The name of the club Reddish Villa was decided on and the colours Maroon and Blue were chosen as our clubs colours. Out of this first meeting came the aims and ambitions of the new Reddish Villa JFC, we wanted to be known as a club that encouraged children to play and enjoy football and would never prevent any child from playing for us for financial reasons. We wanted to be a club for the community.
We started with one team which was entered into the Reddish & District League inc with the Droysleden League. Within a few weeks of training it became clear that there was a great deal of interest in the team, as more boys came to training and with the help of Malc Cameron we were able to form a second team to accommodate all the boys.
Also in that first year Paddy Whelan offered his help with his vast experience of football he became Villas youth development officer and the first stop for children joining the club, a job his still does to this day earning himself a reputation for bringing though some outstanding players and teams.
The club has come a long way from that first meeting Reddish Villa the colours are now red & white and we now play in the East Manchester League and have won to many honours to mention but we are still the club for the community and we welcome players from all areas.
We are proud to have upheld the original aims of club and are still the only junior football club we know of that if 2 or 3 children play for us from the same family they will only have to pay the subs for one of the children. As we say a club for the community.
This is dedicated to everybody past & present who have helped
To make Reddish Villa the football club it is today
